🌿 Sunday Diagnostic Reflections – What Does a DPF Specialist Do on a Sunday?

It’s Sunday. Most people switch off…
I try to.
But you know how it is: when you’ve spent 30 years around engines, even a slightly sooty tailpipe in the car park starts whispering differential pressure values into your brain.
This week had its fair share of surprises.
A Range Rover proving yet again that a sticking throttle body can ruin a perfectly good regeneration far more effectively than the DPF ever could.
Another car showing beautiful live data… which, of course, had nothing to do with reality – the classic “4.4 g/s MAF reading even with the engine off” phenomenon.
But my favourite moment?
When the system finally breathes after a proper clean: kPa values drop, the soot resets, and you know – this was good work.
Yes, it’s Sunday…
but the world of diagnostics never really sleeps.
And neither do I – except for the occasional “active regeneration” on the sofa.

If you appreciate good humour, clean DPFs, and don’t hate diesel technology quite as much as you sometimes should…
then you’re in the right place here on the Andras Services blog.
Happy Sunday!
